Two regional ministries are working to ensure the freedom of other religions.

  The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs has approved the demands of Zoroastrian religious scholars in the region, who have called for the creation of a private cemetery and a mosque.
The Ministry of Education has ordered the study of other religions in the Ministry of Education.


Recently, representatives of the Zoroastrian religion met with officials and the Ministry of Endowments to make a number of demands, the most important of which was the construction of a private cemetery and the construction of a shrine.
Regarding the demands, Amir Osman, the director of religious co-ordination at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs of the Kurdistan Region, announced to the (Shkoi Kurdistan):According to the law in each region, religions are allowed to practice their religion freely.Therefore, it was approved to build a special cemetery for the Zoroastrian clergy in Sulaymaniyah and to build a temple in the region.
Amir Osman explained that in accordance with the law, all religions and denominations of the region can be dealt with and all the rights and demands set forth by the law will be met.


At the same time, the Ministry of Education of the Region has decided to study Islamic religious freedom and other religions and denominations in other schools in the region.
According to Decree No. (2886) of the Ministry of Education, which was issued on February 12, 2020, the method of teaching the religion of Islam for the worshipers of those religions and other religions is explained.
According to the decree, there must be five other religious students in each class, and in addition to Islam, their religions, such as Christianity and Yazidi, must be taught.
