Yusra Rajab, member of the council of representatives in Iraq said that This period of parliamentary time has faced problems more than the other rounds because it has not been able to make good laws and assess carefully the government of Mustafa kazmi. The following is part of the interview with Shkoi Kurdistn newspaper:
Shkoi Kurdistan: you were elected as the candidate of Kurdistan Society’s freedom movement (Tavgari Azady) in the list of New generation league in the last parliamentary elections, it is said now you left the block of new generation, is it true?
Yusra Rajab: Yes, it is true. Now I am only the representative of Kurdistan people and Kurdistan Society’s freedom movement (Tavgari Azady), but not under the name of Tavgar. for leaving the new Generation block, I can say that it was useful for both of parties and we decided to take that step peacefully.
Shkoi Kurdistan: It is two years and and a half that this round of parliament has started in a so called a country full of corruption, how much do you think this round of parliament has been successful in defeating corruption?
Yusra Rajab: No parliamentary sessions and sitting have faced problems as much as this session in the history of Iraq. At the very beginning the protests erupted and they didn’t give us enough time to watch the works of the government. We were busy with the demands of the protesters more than monitoring the works of the government. Additionally, we saw forming two governments that has not happened to any parliamentary rounds. Soon after we started to collect information on the government of Adil Abdulmahdy, and then he withdrew from the government and was replaced with Mustafa Kazmi. Above all, appearing the most dangerous virus (coronavirus) was the greatest problem for the parliament that destroyed all plans. That’s why, unfortunately, this period of parliament has not implemented its duties as well as required.
