Turkish forces bombarded villages of Hasaka

Shkoi Kurdistan-

Turkish forces bombarded villages of Hasaka province in northeast Syria (Rojava) late Thursday, killing at least two civilians and injuring three others, according to an official from the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

“A child and woman have lost their lives, while 3 more civilians were wounded as a result of Turkish bombing on the villages of Til Tamer and Zirgan towns / North Hasakah city,” tweeted Farhad Shami, Head of SDF Media Center.

Hawar News Agency (ANHA), affiliated to the Kurdish administration, reported that the death toll increased to three. It added that two of them are siblings.

At least three civilians, including a mother and a daughter, were killed in a similar attack in Zirgan by Turkish forces on December 21.

Turkey has conducted three military operations in northern Syria since 2016, two of them against Kurdish fighters who Ankara considers a branch of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and a threat to its national security.

Five members of a PKK-affiliated group were killed in Rojava’s Kobane city on December 25 during a suspected Turkish drone attack.
