Public schools in Duhok covered only 50% of the curriculum this year

Shkoi Kurdistan-

Public school students in Duhok are behind private school pupils, having only covered 50 percent of the curriculum due to coronavirus-related closures.

“We didn’t attend classes this year due to the coronavirus. We have covered some of the curriculum,” said student Ayam Badi’i.

“We covered all the subjects that the ministry requires. We covered 50 percent of the curriculum both semesters. That was done to avoid students missing the academic year,” said Dilgash Hussein, principal of Aylul school.

Public schools have only been open for 86 days of the academic year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Private schools, however, have mostly run online classes.
